Last weekend, we found ourselves in Augusta, Georgia, for a basketball tournament one of our boys was playing in. With a packed schedule and multiple gym locations, I was looking for a centrally located place to stay—something convenient, comfortable, and ideally, with a bit of charm. On the recommendation of a friend who grew up in Augusta, I booked a few nights at the Partridge Inn. What I expected was location and ease. What we got was so much more.

Nestled in Augusta’s historic Summerville neighborhood, the Partridge Inn is a true gem. Originally built in 1836 as a private home, it was later converted into a hotel and became a beloved gathering place throughout the early 20th century—hosting presidents, celebrities, and socialites. Even today, it retains its storied charm while feeling fresh, welcoming, and completely family-friendly.

I was instantly drawn in by the architecture, the timeless details, and the sense of calm the property offered. It feels like a quiet escape, yet you’re right in the heart of Augusta. From the gracious wraparound porches to the soft glow of evening light filtering through tall windows, there’s inspiration tucked into every corner.

Our room was incredibly comfortable—plush beds, peaceful surroundings, and a quiet that made for the best kind of sleep after long, full days. There was space for our whole crew, and the thoughtful touches throughout the hotel made our stay feel easy and special. We especially appreciated the complimentary coffee available all day in the lobby, the in-room Nespresso machine (such a nice touch!), and the hotel restaurant with early and late dining hours that worked with our unpredictable schedule. Bonus: there are even two EV chargers in the parking deck—something we always look for on road trips.

Hope you have enjoyed a few views that captured my eye and offered a little design inspiration I’ve brought home with me. This stay reminded me that even short trips can leave a lasting impression when you find places that honor both history and hospitality.
Save this one for your next Southern getaway—you won’t be disappointed.
