Favorite Podcast Episodes of the Week

August 14, 2024

I walk a lot to clear my mind, move my body and walk my active two year old black lab. I love podcasts. For some reason, I love them better than music when walking or doing work around our house.

Here are three podcast episodes that I listened to this last week and why I loved them.

Up first, Life with Loverly’s interview with Katherine Wolf.

I first learned about Katherine Wolf in the Summer of 2016 when I picked up her book Hope Heals. A few weeks later, I birthed our fourth child, and much to our surprise he had issues with his airway that would require emergency surgery at 21 days of life and a year long recovery to complete health.

I opened Katherine’s book right before our son’s surgery and had to close it. I just couldn’t go there. I didn’t open it again until a year later.

Hope Heals is a hard read but man it is a beautiful read as well. Katherine’s story and the story of her family seems super human but the beauty of it is the super natural and all that God has and continues to align.

If you only had time to listen to one podcast episode this week, this is the one I would recommend.

LISTEN HERE and be blessed.

Up Second: Jennie Allen’s Interview of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone

The Paris Olympics have had me glued to the television. Of course, I loved women’s gymnastics but the events that have captivated most of my attention are the track and field events. Specifically in the area of sprinting. If you are like me, you cheered Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone to several finish lines last week.

This interview of Sydney with Jennie Allen is SO GOOD! If you have an athlete in your home, boy or girl, this would be a great episode to listen to with them. Even if you are not raising an athlete or you are not one yourself, this episode with leave you encouraged and believing that there are still bright shining stars out there.

LISTEN HERE and be encouraged.

Up Third: Episode 798 from the Goal Digger Podcast

I have been listening to the Goal Digger Podcast with Jenna Kutcher for years. I love to pop this one in for business marketing and strategy but I also really like the additional content she puts out as well.

This episode on titled “Behind the Scenes of My (Intentionally) Slow Summer was a great listen as I trimmed backed and tamed the jasmine trellis that grows along the side of our garage. It is never an easy task and was super hot outside, so this episode in my ears seemed like a great fit.

While Jenna is lightyears away in business than I am, I really appreciated her encouragement to slow in certain seasons. If I am honest, this Summer was nothing but slow. So many projects wrapping up and coming to a close and they all just happened to be finishing out when four kids were out for Summer.

Needless to say, this podcast really pushed me to plan ahead, think about their Winter vacations and next Summer vacation and how I need to position HHDC in certain seasons.

If you run a busy household, a business, or just feel pulled in 100 different directions, this episode is a great listen.

Check it out here.

Those are my very favorite episodes from last week. I hope you get to listen to all three, but if not, hopefully one will make it to your ears this week. Enjoy!
