I am currently working on a project that is calling for open shelving. And while I know there is this great debate out there about the pros and cons of open shelving, I still believe there are some pretty, functional options out there.
Five years ago we built our house and I asked the builder to put in lower cabinets and countertop only on this wall beside the fridge.
I had a vision for this space and a place where our story could be told. This is the heart of our home and the words chalked on that chalkboard by a local artist will forever be the story and the heartbeat of our home.
The shiplap, the lights, the shelves, it all was a vision brought to life. This space in our home gives me great joy!
A commercial project I am currently working on needs shelves that will take up a large majority of the kitchen’s back wall. We would like to save the client some money on cabinetry and add in some texture, color and visuals to this space. And so this option by Iron Abode feels like a great one to me.
This next design truly captured my heart. I love every single detail about this kitchen and the design. This open shelving is the inspiration for the commercial project I am working on.
And if you aren’t sure that you want to commit to a whole wall of open shelving, how about this cutie by The Grit and Polish.
I also love how Studio McGee added in this corner l-shaped open shelving in this kitchen.
Something about opening shelving and a window that just makes it feel all complete.
Last but not least who can resist these three little open shelves tucked between a glass front and solid cabinet.
A perfect way to add some character into your kitchen by Stonington Cabinetry.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you found some inspiration for your next project.
As always, I am most grateful for you and your support of Highland Home Design Co.
