Oh I love how this design turned out for a recent client.
She had visions of using this blue velvet sofa in her living room refresh and I was so happy to run with it.
We honestly kept so much of what she currently had in color and artwork.
We spent the majority of her budget on a new sofa, swivel chairs, coffee table and a base rug.
You can see the 4 major colors we worked with in this room: cream, beige, blue and burgundy.
Her walls are a light beige and her trim is a cream/white.
I played off the 7×9 rug she already had in place and just escalated its look and pop by adding a natural weave rug in 8×10 under it.
She had the option to recover 2 club chairs in this room. But after more research and evaluating the lines of the sofa, I really liked the lines of these swivel chairs.
Her previous club chairs were oversized and leaned more traditional. I felt like there would be a design gap between traditional chairs and the modern sofa.
So in order to bridge the gap, I chose the classic transitional swivels that are currently in-stock! Win! Win!
A lot of times clients get stuck when they like more than one design style. Mixing two or three can have it challenges. But as you can see from this design, we transitioned one look to another seamlessly.

You know what I love most about this design?
We kept in her color scheme and as a result, she gets to keep a Berry Pickers framed print her dad bid on and won at an auction for her years ago.
Her dad is no longer living but this sweet piece in her home gives her great joy.
I love being able to keep people’s stories and memories as part of their home with updated design styles.
