This past Spring, a client reached out to us and asked for some help pulling off a refresh for her preteen daughter. I for one always love a project like this, because I have a teenage daughter and I know how important personalized space can be to a girl.
For this client we selected our mini-edesign package.
The client filled out our online questionnaire complete with photos of the room and inspiration photos for this space. Our design team reviewed the questionnaire and followed up with a 30 minute client facetime call to see the space. The client submitted all measurements requested by the designer and we got to work.
Here is the final design board with rational for our client. Through our online program, this mini-design client was able to visualize all of our suggestions and purchase directly through our links. We have been using this web-based program since January and all of our clients have loved it.
Cozy, calm, inspiring, feminine, classy and inviting were all of the words they used to describe the look they were going for in this room. The bed and the dresser needed to stay but everything else was open for recommendations.
The pink walls had served their purpose well, but this preteen girl was hoping for something more along the lines of teal. After seeing a “You are my sunshine” piece of artwork she loved and wanted to use, we looked no further then Magnolia’s “Texas Summer” for the walls.
We used this color in my daughter’s room, and while I am not a huge fan of “teal” walls, I said yes to this one in my own home and passed it along to this client as well.
We added in new bedding with a neutral base and a pop of color. Gave her a nightstand with a lamp for a little night time glow.
We found a narrow desk with a small footprint to help her enjoy crafting in her room.
And added in a round mirror over her dresser because what girl doesn’t take several looks in the mirror.
The client sent us these photos and an last week to show us the progress they have made. We are so proud of the work they put in to this mini-edesign project.
The last line of the client’s email brought us great JOY, “The paint color is everything we could have hoped for and more! It turned out so beautiful and “M” just loves her “new” room! Your input was just what I needed to finally get her room updated. Thank you!!”
Decluttering, having a designated place for her needs, painting the walls, and adding in a few key pieces refreshed this room perfectly.
What I love about our mini-edesign package is that it allows clients the freedom to purchase items when their budget allows. Can’t wait to see this room again when they add in the rug and draperies.
